About

Faculty and staff at the Cambridge Health Alliance are conducting research regarding the experiences and recommendations of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other non-heterosexual and non-cisgender (LGBTQ+) cancer survivors in order to improve cancer care for LGBTQ+ people.

Our research will include initial focus groups in Cambridge, MA, likely a nationwide survey, and possibly follow-up qualitative research. In this way, we plan to generate guidelines for oncologists so that they can provide accessible, effective care for LGBTQ+ people with cancer.

In this series of focus groups, we hope to hear about the experiences of LGBTQ+ cancer survivors and providers; your recommendations for cancer providers; and your suggestions about what questions we should ask LGBTQ+ cancer survivors in a nationwide survey.
